'Yemen membership in GCC Standardization Auth. added value'

Secretary General of the GCC Standerdization Authority Dr. Anwar Al-Abdullah said Tuesday Yemen's membership in the Authority, to take effect early next year, would boost flow of Yemeni products to and from the six GCC countries.

Al-Abdullah, during a meeting with Yemeni Deputy Premier for Economy, Minister of Planning and international cooperation Abdulkareem Al-Arhabi, said Yemen's membership would be an added value to the GCC-Yemen action.

Al-Arhabi said the Yemeni government was keen on encouraging the smooth trade exchange with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.

He praised last December GCC summit's resolution to grant Yemen the membership of the Authority, considering this move an advanced steps towards further integration.

The GCC countries are the prime trade partner for Yemen.
