UN Security Council renewed his condemnation of all terrorist operations carried out in Iraq. A statement issued by the Security Council yesterday that the «Council members were briefed last week on a presentation by the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq Ad Melkert.
On the situation in Iraq, especially in regard to the preparation of the legislative elections.
The members of the Council according to the statement received »Sabah» copy of it, expressed their appreciation for the work of the UN Assistance Mission in Iraq (UNAMI) on support for the elections.
The Security Council stressed the importance of international sovereignty and integrity of the territorial integrity of Iraq, stressing the need to respect the law and follow-up Iraqi government's efforts to achieve consensus and reconciliation.
