2010-02-11 The Presidency Council shall issue law on the protection of Iraqi products
BAGHDAD (Iba) .. the Presidency of the Republic issued on Thursday Protection Act of Iraqi products number (11) for the year 2010.
A statement by the Presidency of the Republic received by the independent press (Iba) a copy of the promulgation of the law was based on what passed the House of Representatives in accordance with the provisions of item (I) of Article (61) and the legal period set forth in paragraph (a) of item (V) Article (138) of the Constitution.
Included the first article of the law, definitions of terms, used in the Act, as stated in Article II that the law aims to "protect the Iraqi products from the effects of harmful practices in international trade with Iraq and address the damage resulting therefrom", and "provide an environment for building a national industry is able to competition in the local and global markets.
The article included the third means through which the law achieves its goals, while other materials included mechanisms denies the law.
The statement noted that the enactment of this law is "in line with the new changes that have occurred on the Iraqi economy and open markets to world trade for the purpose of building a national industry."
He also comes to "avoid damage to the harmful practices of dumping policies, products or unjustified increases in imports or imported products, supported by exports to the Republic of Iraq leading to a loss of conditions of fair competition for the purpose of taking appropriate measures to protect Iraqi products and local producers," .
