He said Oil Minister Hussain al-Shahristani said in an interview for "Alsumaria News", that "the ministry has started to establish a new export terminal, floating next to the ports of Basra and Khor al-Amaya, upon which Iraq is currently exporting crude oil through the Arabian Gulf", stating that "The ministry is seeking to develop the pipeline network that stretches from north to south of Iraq."
Shahristani said that "Iraq is also seeking to develop and rehabilitate the Iraqi-Syrian pipeline, and the extension of another pipeline through a new Syrian territory, as well as seeking to extend another pipe next to the current Turkish pipeline", stating that "Iraq will reach the production of more than ten million barrels per day after the development of oil fields, would leave Iraq in a definite need to open new outlets for the export of Iraqi oil to the outside. "Iraq has agreed with Russia in oil 15 May last year, to rehabilitate the oil pipeline between Kirkuk and Syria's Banias on the Mediterranean, after he stopped work for more than 28 years, due to opposition from Syria to Iraq-Iran war.
