Hashemi, underscores the interest of Iraq to attract investment and Egyptian Arabic

Vice President Tariq al-Hashemi Thursday his country's interest the presence of Arab and Egyptian investment in Iraq as a matter of strategy for Iraq in the framework of joint Arab responsibility to preserve the Arab identity.

Hashemi said in a press statement after meeting with Egyptian Minister of Investment Mahmoud Mohi Eddin as part of his visit to Egypt that Iraq is striving to attract more investment to him, saying to amend the investment law in his country and further work on the development of its economic legislation.

He also added that Iraq is still in the construction phase and in need of rehabilitation and training for its cadres in various areas, including contributing to facilitate the work of investors in Iraq, praised Egypt's role in providing training programs for Iraqi cadres.

He pointed to al-Hashemi and there are many attractive areas for investment in Iraq, which companies can engage in, especially the Egyptian in the field of contracting and construction of housing units in the Iraqi market need for more and continued increase in demand.

For his part, Minister of Investment of Egypt's keenness to boost bilateral economic and investment relations between the two countries and receiving a number of Iraqi delegations and organizing training programs for Iraqi cadres and exchange of visits between the Egyptian and Iraqi officials.

He said there are a number of areas in which the Egyptian companies to invest in Iraq, especially in the area of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies and food industries and the production of oil and housing and construction.

He said in this context discuss the establishment of a trilateral free trade area between Egypt, Jordan and Iraq would help to facilitate the movement of products, goods and increase investment between the three countries.
