GCC finance officials meet in Riyadh25 February, 2010
The 32nd meeting of the undersecretaries of the ministries of finance and economy in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states was held here Wednesday presided by the undersecertary of the ministry of finance in the state of Kuwait Khalifa Musaed Hamada.
Secretariat General of the GCC said in a press statement issued here today that the meeting discussed ways of implementing a decision issued by the GCC higher council last December on finalizaing the requirements of the customs union of the GCC member states including reaching optimal solutions and a mechanims accepted by all the GCC countries.
Further, the meeting tackled the economic aspect based on the perspective of the Bahrain kingdom for developing the GCC in implementation of the decision made by the higher council in its previous session in what helps boost the joint GCC action.
It is scheduled for the meeting to submit its outcomes to the 84th meeting of the financial and economic cooperation committee that is made up of the ministers of finance and economy and due to convene on the 4th of April, 2010.
