Concluded in Riyadh on Wednesday, 10/2/2010, a meeting of experts Cooperation Council and the European Union, on activating the cooperation agreement, which began its work on Tuesday morning.

A meeting was held at the expert level and senior officials from the Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf States and the European Union in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on 9-10 february 2010 the preparation of a joint work program to activate the cooperation agreement between the two sides.
The meeting was taking place to implement the decision of the Ministerial Meeting of the Gulf common European sides held in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman on April 29, 2009, which confirms the activation of the cooperation agreement agreed by the two sides in 1988.

The meeting was taking place to implement the decision of the Ministerial Meeting of the Gulf common European sides held in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman on April 29, 2009, which confirms the activation of the cooperation agreement agreed by the two sides in 1988.
The meeting was followed by Muscat internal consultations on both sides, as well as between the European Commission and the Secretariat of the Cooperation Council with a view to reaching a common understanding of the objectives of the desired cooperation and propose priorities in the coming period.
After two days of deliberations, both sides acknowledged the draft joint work program for submission to the Ministerial Meeting of the Gulf common European century. The program identifies areas of cooperation as well as the mechanisms proposed to activate each of these areas over the next three years with effect from mid-2010.

And work program covers aspects of economic, financial, commercial, industrial, transport and communications and information technology, energy, environment and climate change, higher education and scientific research and cultural understanding.
The meeting was attended by over 170 experts and officials from both sides. And reverse the massive presence of strategic importance attached by the two sides of the relationship between them.
