FRANKFURT (AFP): The "Air Berlin" Germany's second airline Thursday for the opening of direct flights this week from Munich (South) to Iraq, while intended to rival "Lufthansa" a direct route to Iraq next summer.
According to a statement issued by the company, as of Saturday, flights will run every two weeks to Madarop airports Erbil and Sulaymaniyah in Iraqi Kurdistan on the north of the country to increase the frequency of flights from next summer.
And mid-January, Lufthansa announced the resumption of direct flights from Germany to Baghdad starting next summer, after twenty years Tagayha during the first Gulf War.
Meanwhile, Air France announced Thursday it was considering the possibility of resuming direct flights to Baghdad that were suspended 20 years ago.
