Baghdad, Washington is negotiating to buy part of its military arsenal at discounted prices

A spokesman for the Iraqi Defense Ministry said Baghdad is currently negotiating with the United States to acquire weapons of US-made at discounted prices.

Mohammed al-Askari, said during a military statement said negotiations are currently under way between Washington and Baghdad to supply Iraqi army with weapons used by the U.S. Army as part of its military arsenal at low prices or in the form of grants.

The military did not disclose specific figures on the heavy weapons that Iraq can get from Washington, saying the U.S. government promised to support their Iraqi counterparts in the fields of logistics and armaments in preparation for a full withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq.
