Iraq announced a conference to launch the initiative of transparency in Baghdad on Sunday.
A statement issued by the Inspector-General in the Iraqi Oil Ministry Ala Messenger Mohiuddin, that the conference will discuss the reality of the extractive industries and deal with transparency.
He said that Iraq will be the leading countries in the practice of transparency in the contractual and financial activity in the extractive sector.
The Minister of Investment keen on the Oil Ministry announced sales volume of crude oil and its proceeds periodically through the media, which reflects the seriousness of the ministry in dealing with transparency».
He explained that «many countries are reluctant about this, sees it as a secret national security secrets».
He believed that the experience of the license to the award of contracts to develop oil fields is one of the «pilot experiences in the transparency and accuracy of its mission procedures».
And the hope of convening an international conference in Baghdad soon to launch a national campaign to promote a culture of transparency and accountability ».
