ARBIL - The political bureaus of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan held on Wednesday a meeting in Arbil to discuss the recent preparations for the coming parliamentary elections, the media office of the PUK said.
ARBIL - Head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council called on Wednesday to resort to the constitution in tackling problems between the Kurdistan region and Baghdad.
BAGHDAD - Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki received on Wednesday Arab League Deputy Secretary General for Political Affairs Ahmad bin Helli and expressed hope for a bigger Arab League’s role in Iraq.

ANBAR - A vehicle and motorcycle ban was imposed in several regions in northern Falluja until further notice after the car bomb explosion that took place this morning, a security source said on Wednesday.
BASRA - Eleven wanted men and eight suspected gunmen have been arrested and two Katyusha rockets have been seized during security raids in separate areas of Basra, a police source said on Wednesday.
