The Presidency Endorse the Legal Protection of Consumers and the First Amendment to the Investment Law

Council approved the Presidency to legal consumer protection and the First Amendment to the Investment Law.
The presidential statement received "morning," a copy of it, that the Council's endorsement for the presidency came at its session on Monday based on what passed the House of Representatives in accordance with the provisions of subsection (I) of Article (61) and the provisions of paragraph (a) of item (V) of Article (138) of the Constitution.
The Act provides that an investment in the regions and governorates not organized in the province of investment bodies have the moral personality and represented by its President or his representative, and funded from the budget of the region or province and have the powers granted investment licenses, investment planning and investment promotion.

According to the presidential statement, the reasons for the ratification of the law, namely: "In order to facilitate and organize the work in the National Commission for Investment and create a favorable investment climate in Iraq, especially in the housing sector and the removal of legal obstacles that impede it reflected positively on the accelerating process of economic development and reconstruction in Iraq .
The Consumer Protection Act aims to ensure that basic consumer rights and protection of the illicit practices that lead to damage him, and raising consumer awareness, and to prevent any act contrary to the rules of import, production or marketing of goods or detract from the benefits or mislead the consumer.
** The law also gives consumers the right to "all information relating to the protection of legitimate rights and interests, and complete information on the specifications of goods and identify the correct methods to use or how to receive the service as the official language dependent, and proof of purchase of any commodity or receiving a service showing the value, date and specifications Item number and quantity, type and price, in addition to the guarantees for goods that require security, such as the nature and duration to be agreed upon with the supplier, without loading additional costs.
