4 countries agree to host Iraqi election abroad – source

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Four countries so far have agreed to allow Iraqis living there to vote in Iraq's upcoming parliamentary election, a senior official said on Monday.

"Turkey, Sweden, Austria, and Jordan agreed to host voting," Judge Qassim al-Ibodi, member of the board of commissioners of the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) in Iraq told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

He said that the IHEC is still waiting for other 11 countries to approve voting within their territories.

Around 1.9 million Iraqis will be voting abroad in the upcoming parliamentary election on March 7, 2010.
