Baghdad, November 27 (AKnews) - A spokesman for the Information Office of the Vice-President Tareq al-Hashemi said on Friday that al-Hashemi will take its final decision on the election law after the Eid al-Adha.
Mr. Abdul-Ilah Kadhim told Kurdistan News (AKnews) "Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi will take a final decision on the election law after the holidays due to preoccupation with congratulations and visits during the day of the Feast," noting that "the final decision needs to be for a period of time in order to conduct in-depth discussions with his advisers and a number of the decision-making bodies in order to ensure the rights of all Iraqis and the Iraqi provinces in the elections. "
He noted that al-Hashemi "is still awaiting a response from the Electoral Commission and the safeguards provided by UNHCR fairly all the provinces in the electoral law without any harm to the provinces at the expense of another."
It was Tariq al-Hashemi met Thursday with leaders of political blocs and members of the Electoral Commission and a delegation from the United Nations to obtain guarantees access for all the provinces of their rights and to be fair to all Iraqis.
He cautioned his press office spokesman said al-Hashemi is expected written assurances from the Office of the elections and those who put these safeguards in order to ensure the rights of all Iraqis and the provinces without any damage.
