Kuwait labor minister flies to Muscat for GCC meeting11/7/2009
Nov 7 (KUNA) -- Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Mohammad Al-Afasi has left here for Muscat, heading Kuwait's delegation participating in a GCC labor meeting due to be held on Sunday.
In pre-departure remarks to KUNA, he said the agenda of the meeting would involve a spectrum of issues, chiefly employment, a uniform guidebook of labor profession description, incoming labor entry regulation and revision of labor legislation and bylaws amid existing changes.
Kuwait's experiment in unemployment benefits, and Bahrain's experiment in joblessness insurance are to be reviewed during the gathering, he said.
A preparatory meeting of GCC labor undersecretaries kicked off here earlier in the day, focusing on personnel training, rehabilitation, national labor employment, market regulation and incoming labor recruitment, he added.
