GCC Secretary General Abdulrahman bin Hamad al-Attiyah has commended the instrument of ratification issued by HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani approving the GCC Monetary Union agreement, in implementation of the decision of the GCC Supreme Council at its 29th session, held in Muscat on December 29-30, 2008.

Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council hails ratification by His Highness the Emir of Qatar, on The Convention on the European Monetary Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf States
Secretariat - Riyadh: Abdulrahman bin Hamad al-Attiyah, Secretary General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf States, issued by His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, may Allah protect him, and the instrument of ratification of the Convention on the approval of the European Monetary Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf States, and pursuant to the resolution of the Supreme Council cooperation in its (ninth century), which was held in Muscat during the period from 29 to 30 December 2008.
The Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council, expressed deep pride and appreciation for the great efforts of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, may Allah protect him in supporting the GCC joint action, and his eagerness to achieve the GCC citizenship in all its dimensions, and translating the decisions of the Supreme Council of the GCC to the reality of a concrete and practical to meet the aspirations and hopes of the citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council Gulf Arab states.
