
Emir of Kuwait and Ahmadinejad Call Islamic Countries for Economic Cooperation

Istanbul, (SANA) –President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran said that the existence of capitalism in the political arena exposed the world to painful experiences causing occupation, divisions, terrorist acts against states and discrimination in international relations.
In a speech to the 25th Economic Summit of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (COMCEC) Ahmadinejad added that all that led to the recent economic crisis resulting millions of unemployed besides different social problems and bankruptcy the sequences of which are being paid by nations and peoples.
"We are in charge with improving the current global situation through a just international system in which our countries share and play a key role, otherwise; others will take future steps on our behalf and impose what they seek," Ahmadinejad added.
Iranian president called Islamic states for unity, cooperation and work as a joint team to face future challenges through a plan that organizes the required mechanisms such as providing fund and customs laws in addition to organizing business sector and enhancing the role of the Islamic banks for development.Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah called for exchanging expertise between the Organization's countries and focusing on developing economic activities which could raise living standard of man in addition to concentrating on investment in the field of agriculture in a way that contributes to achieving food security for the Muslim world.
"Kuwait has initiated the establishment of a fund to support small and medium projects with a capital of one U.S.D billion and shared with the amount of U.S.D 500.000.000 seeking integration between Arab countries", Sheikh Sabah added.
Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) Secretary-General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu indicated that the main goal of the organization is to upgrade the economic and social level of most of the participating countries' peoples and to work on improving its performance according to the members' suggestions, particularly in the field of trade under the circumstances of the international economic crisis.
"OIC is responsible for economic development in the Islamic states and it has achieved a great success in facing difficulties that hinder some member countries in the field of development," Ihsanoglu added.
Ihsanoglu called on member countries for intensifying efforts in the light of the international economic crisis and creating new expectations in order to overcome its sequences in the field of stock market in addition to working on raising the performance of the private sector and getting it involved in the economic and social development.
