IMF to hold conference in Seoul October 29, 2009

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) will hold a conference in Korea later this month to assess the overall economic condition of Asian countries, Seoul officials said and Yonhap News reported Wednesday.

The Regional Economic Outlook forum will be held on Oct. 29 in Seoul in cooperation with the finance ministry and the state-run think tank Korea Development Institute, according to ministry officials.

During the one-day conference, IMF officials including Anoop Singh, the global lender's Asia-Pacific Department director, will make presentations on their outlook for regional economic conditions during the second half, followed by panel discussions, they added.
