General Assembly of the United Nations begin its work of the 64 in New York

Presence of His Excellency President Jalal Talabani, began in New York City on Wednesday, 23 / 9 meetings of the General Assembly of the United Nations at its 64, with the participation of world leaders at the forefront of the Heads of State and Government of the United States, France, Britain, China, Brazil, Iraq, Iran and Israel.


Delivered at the beginning of meetings Ban Ki-moon Secretary-General Kofi Annan's speech, in which he stressed the need to unite countries through the United Nations addressed to the most pressing challenges, calling on the international community to be united in purpose and action.
The Ki-moon said in his speech before the General Assembly, composed of 192 members at United Nations Headquarters: There is a simultaneous crises on multiple fronts, including food, energy, and economic stagnation, and pandemic influenza.
He highlighted the need for joint efforts on issues ranging from climate change, disarmament, noting that the threat posed by climate change is the greatest challenge facing humanity, calling for a unified global effort to address this problem.
He also called on Ban Ki-moon said in his speech to help the nearly poor, who are on the verge of falling below the poverty line.
Secretary-General also discussed the situation in the tense and war in Sudan's Darfur, the Middle East and Afghanistan.
